This week, Entertainment Weekly‘s special Comic Con issue unveiled some Iron Man 3 concept art that appears to show Tony Stark using what Marvel fans know as Extremis technology.

In the 2004 Extremis story arc, published in the pages of Iron Man, a nanotech-infused superserum merges Tony Stark’s physiology with the Iron Man technology, essentially making him a living computer. Among many other abilities, this allows Stark to mentally control his armor.

The piece is drawn by concept artist Ryan Meinerding.

More on Iron Man 3 is expected to be revealed July 14 at Marvel Studios’ panel at Comic Con International.
