Peter Weller, the man who played the title character in the first two Robocop movies, will provide the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman in DC’s upcoming animated features based on the classic graphic novel, The Dark Knight Returns.

Along for the ride will be Ariel Winter as Robin/Carrie Kelly, Wade Williams as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, David Selby and Michael McKean.

Warner Premiere will release The Dark Knight Returns as two separate films, the first one in the fall, the second one in early 2013.

Written and pencilled by Frank Miller, The Dark Knight Returns sees Bruce Wayne return to his role as Batman in a dystopian future after years of inactivity. Now an outlaw, he takes on his old enemies the Joker and Two-Face, and even goes one on one with Superman.
