This week, Sony and Atari announced Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, an indirect sequel to last year’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

Developed by Wanaco, the four-player adventure game will be available spring 2011 on the PlayStation Network, XBox Live  Arcade and PC. It follows the rookie character from Ghostbusters: The Video Game as he works with a new team.

Players will need to work together as they face gigantic supernatural threats, with the entire Ghostbusters arsenal at their disposal (the proton stream, plasma inductor, fermion shock, etc). Players will also get to drive Ecto-4WD, the new incarnation of Ecto-1.

Unlike Ghostbusters: The Video Game, actors from the movies will not be involved in Sanctum.
